This was a very fun shoot. First of all, lensed by my good friend Mikolaj Jaroszewicz with whom I have worked countless times. The unit basically spent two weeks filming Porsches driving around the gorgeous scenery of the isle of Skye in the summer, and then London docklands at night. Lots of fantastic shots, helicopters, tracking vehicles, 30ft jibs, etc… The show was presenter driven (lame pun intended…) so my main mission was recording that monologue (including in sports cars at speed), although a big part of it was also recording all sorts of car sounds. I went off for several half days with one car or the other and a driver, rigging the engine bays, exhaust pipes, and various other spots in the cars, to record the best sounds out of them. Fun show to work on for sound!
